Sasquatch Dumpling Gang Viewer Interviews by Dory

Everyone knows it's going to be hilarious, but it also has a good story to it

Lucy_Barbie's SDG Adventure

When and where did you see "The Sasquatch Dumpling Gang?
I saw it on April 1, 2005 at the Enzian Theater in Orlando, Florida.

Can you describe what it was like the first few minutes before the movie started (were you excited, nervous, in disbelief, etc..)?
It was crazy for us! We got lost and ended up getting there a lot later than we had planned. Even though we were there 15 minutes before the movie started, it was so packed and we had to sit all the way in the back so it was kind of disappointing. Although the screen was huge it took me forever to find a place to put chair so I could see (lots of tall people in front of me)! So yeah, those minutes were a little chaotic for me but I was ready just in time. I couldn't believe when the movie actually started! It was funny because it was a scene I was familiar with (from a video clip).

Describe your surroundings. What kind of venue was it playing in (was it a regular movie theater)?
No, not like a regular theater at all! The building had one HUGE room with a huge screen. Then there were tables and chairs everywhere. They were big, cool, colorful, and comfortable chairs. You even had waiters that you could order food from during the movie and that was pretty sweet. There were SO many people there. When I first got there, the line was all the way up to the street (and that was pretty far).

Who was your favorite character in the movie, and why?
All the main characters (Gavin, Sophie, Maynard, Hobie, Zerk, and Shirts) were all so likeable for different reasons. Each character was played by the perfect actor for that role. But I guess I'd have to say Sophie…I liked her a lot. During the movie you'll feel bad for her so much because her feelings get hurt a lot. That some how made me like her even more. And also Shirts….every scene with him is absolutely hilarious.

Can you describe the character that Jeremy played?
UNBELIEVABLY GEEKY! Everything he does…is incredibly geeky. He's also a really sweet guy. There's some scenes with Hobie where he is not so sweet but they work it out in the end and it's adorable!

Describe a favorite scene from the movie involving Jeremy.
When Gavin and Sophie first meet at this video store, they get along great because they're both such big geeks! Sophie asks Gavin out. It was so funny, Gavin at first couldn't believe it but then he acted like he was all cool and he was the one that asked her out. She gave him her phone number and he called it and it went like this:
Gavin: Hi, is Sophia there?
Sophie: Uh no, you mean Sophie?
Gavin: No. (hangs ups and calls her back RIGHT after)
Gavin: Hi is Sophie there?
Sophie: Yeah, didn't you just call?
Gavin: No.
HAHAHA it was hilarious! Also the kissing scenes were another favorite.

After seeing the movie, what did you feel (were you disappointed, happy, relieved to have finally seen it)?
The only disappointing thing I can think of is Rob Pinkston didn't have as many scenes as I thought he would! Other than that...nothing at all. I was so excited that I danced (literally…to my cell phone ring tone) all the way to the car.

Was there anything unique about SDG, and if so, what makes it special and different from any other movie coming out this year? Give people a reason to go see it(aside from Jeremy himself).
Everyone knows it's going to be hilarious, but it also has a good story to it. The cartoon chapters were really cool and different too. But the whole movie…I wish I could explain it well but it's different and I don't think you could get tired of it (at least not as fast) like other comedies.

Describe one scene that made you laugh out loud.
This movie has many laugh out loud scenes...no doubt about that! But one scene in particular that comes to mind would be when Zerk tries to run on top of water like a lizard. It's so funny how he is so confident about it, when in reality he looks like a total idiot!
If I had to sum up their relationship in one word it'd be "precious".

What was the general audience's reaction to the movie?
Non- stop laughing. Also, some of the scenes are just so dorky, if you looked around, the reaction on peoples faces were priceless hahaha. Everyone was saying all kinds of good things about it after the movies. And everyone was quoting it and laughing…even after the movie. I mean, the worst thing I heard was "At first I thought it was going to be bad but…"

Describe the relationship between Jeremy's character Gavin, and his friend Sophie, played by Addie Land.
Most people know that their scenes together were my favorites. It was a lot different than I had expected. They're relationship is like no other. The super geeky-ness and sweetness makes it so loveable. Gavin was a lot sweeter than I had thought he would be. If I had to sum up their relationship in one word it'd be precious.

When SDG is finally released in theaters, are you planning on seeing it again?
Yes, I absolutely can't wait to see everyone else's reactions. I think it will be a very popular movie and that will be really exciting.
